COMPANY:
Our client is an international company operating in Côte d'Ivoire, within the logistics and maritime services sector.
We are recruiting for their account a General Ledger (GL) Executive.
MISSIONS:
General Ledger & Accounting Control
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounting entries are accurate, complete, and compliant.
- Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, provisions, adjustments, prepayments, and depreciation.
- Review and validate entries posted by AR, AP, and other departments.
Reconciliations
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (bank, AR, AP, intercompany, taxes, petty cash, fixed assets, etc.).
- Identify discrepancies, analyze root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Ensure reconciliation files are properly documented, reviewed, and archived.
Month-End Closing & Reporting
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities in line with group deadlines.
- Prepare trial balance reviews and explain variances.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with IFRS / SYSCOHADA standards, internal policies, and procedures.
- Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial controls and accounting processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Invoicing/Documentation teams to ensure accurate financial data capture.
- Coordinate with AP and AR/Cash teams to ensure proper posting and reconciliations.
- Provide financial data and explanations to the Finance Manager as required.
PROFILE :
Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Experience: 5 years' experience in accounting or general ledger roles, preferably in logistics, shipping, or a multinational environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial controls.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
Integrity, reliability, and a proactive mindset.
