COMPANY:
UMO INTERIM is recruiting a Haulage Coordinator to manage and coordinate inland trucking operations for import and export containers.
The role involves daily coordination with transporters, terminals, and internal teams to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time container movements.
MISSIONS:
Trip Planning & Dispatching
- Plan and assign trucks for import pickups, export deliveries, and empty container returns.

Communicate booking details, container numbers, and schedules to transporters.

Coordinate with terminals regarding gate availability, restrictions, and urgent requests.

Ensure dispatches respect vessel cut-offs and customer requirements.
Real-Time Monitoring & Follow-Up

Track truck movements from dispatch to final delivery.

Follow up on delays, breakdowns, traffic issues, or operational disruptions.

Maintain continuous communication with transporters.
-
Update internal teams and customers on delivery status.
Terminal & Depot Coordination
-
Follow up on container readiness, holds, scanning, and release status.

Assist drivers with gate or documentation issues.
-
Coordinate empty container returns with depots.
Customer Communication

Provide clear and timely updates on pickup and delivery progress.

Anticipate and escalate potential delays.
-
Propose practical solutions when issues arise.
Issue Resolution & Exception Handling

Handle cases of missing containers, late gate requests, holds, or wrong stack positions.

Coordinate corrective actions with operations, terminal, and documentation teams.

Support urgent and time-sensitive shipments.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring

Maintain daily operational logs and trip reports.

Monitor transporter performance and reliability.
-
Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports.
Safety & Compliance
-
Ensure transporters comply with safety rules and legal requirements.

Report incidents, damages, or unsafe behavior.

Support audits and compliance checks.
PROFILE:
-
Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Transport, Supply Chain, or related field.

1 to 3 years' experience in trucking coordination, inland transportation, or logistics operations.

Good understanding of container flows, terminals, and inland haulage.

Strong communication and follow-up skills.
-
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Proficiency in Excel and operational tracking tools.
-
Fluency in French with workable English.
